Support » Plugin: Translate Multilingual sites - TranslatePress » Flag Icons are Pixelated

  • Resolved meemyr

    Hi all!

We are using TranslatePress on our website and are planning to roll out more languages. English/German already works very well. The only problem is that the flag icons are always pixelated. This does not change when we replace the flag images with other icons, like suggested in your documentation. We uploaded new icons that are round (and much larger), and they are also displayed in a pixelated fashion. Is there any way to “turn on full resolution”? The way it is now and the way it looked per default is unfortunately very ugly. Before going pro on this plugin, we would like to ensure that flag icons can actually be displayed properly.

Thanks for the help in advance!

    Hello Tom,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Does this also occur with the default flag icons?

In case it does, it might be due to lazy loading – it creates weird behaviours regarding images when used along with TranslatePress. Try temporarily turning it off and let me know if it changes anything.

    Best regards,

Hi and thank you for the reply.

We tried a few things with the optimization plugin, but it did not help. Also, we realized that the free version only covers two languages, which was not written anywhere. Now we have to painfully uninstall everything and use a different plugin just to test more than 2 languages. We will not pay for stuff that does not work and will now look for an alternative.

Too bad, the workflow is quite nice, even though the limitations are not properly communicated. Since your plugin is so intrusive, you should communicate this better.

    Bye, Tom
