Fixed TOC widget in sidebar: adjusting height

    Hi Steve,
    first of all: thanks a lot for this magnificent plugin! I am really happy with it.

    Now I have one request: I have set it up as fixed widget in a sidebar. The problem is with very long TOC that the bottom gets cut off because the screen height and it is not possible to scroll in the TOC. So I have to scroll down in my main content to see the bottom of the TOC widget. (do you understand my problem? sorry for my bad english…).

    Is there a way to make the fixed widget scrollable in the sidebar?

    Or is it possible to let the user collapse some entries (for example all h4) in the TOC to save vertical space?

    Would be sweet to solve this issue. Looking forward to your response.

    I do understand the issue. But I do not seem to experience it. Take a look at this page:

    The TOC is sticky and long; when it gets to the bottom, the page will allow the widget to scroll up.

    Hi,
    thanks for your feedback. I looked at the page you mentioned but there I see the same behaviour: the TOC widget in the sidebar is not scrollable. I tested with Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
    Maybe the point is “when it gets to the bottom”. Yes, when I reach the bottom of the main content the widget scrolls up. But I would love to be able to scroll the widget by itself independently from the main content. Is this somehow possible?

    You would have to alter the theme to allow the sidebar to be scrollable.

    Hi Steven,
    thanks for your answer. I will contact the theme developers and as if this is possible. I work with Avada theme.

    What about my suggestion to make it possible for the user to collapse certain hierachies of the TOC? Is this something you can integrate into the plugin?
