# Fixed post height

 * Hi,
 * Is there a way to get a new post summary with a fixed height?
 * A bit like the way it is with the “more” tag, but then automaticly for all posts.
 * So when i write a new post, it shows like 50 words and then adds ” read more”
   after it.

 * I am not quite sure what you mean by “fixed highet”
    But maybe you want can be
   achived with [the_excerpt](http://codex.wordpress.org/Tag_Templates#Modifying_How_Posts_are_Displayed)??

    I came here by mistake… and I see your post is from 10 months ago. Anyway,
   you can define where the “Read More” will appear by placing a tag “more” (available
   on the visual editor, when you are editing a post). Another way, is to write 
   what you want to be the excerpt below the post.

 * I solved it like 10 months ago also, using WP excerpt plugin. I can select there
   that every post summary can only have 35 letters and then it automaticaly inserts
   the -more- tage.
 * I could not do it manual because its not my website 😛
