The contact form used to work perfectly. Whenever someone used the contact form, I’d get an email with all the details and if I hit reply, it would write the reply directly to the person who sent it.

I don’t know what Jetpack changed, but the forms are completely broken now. Whenever I try to test the form, not only do I NOT get an email, but the form isn’t even recorded in the plugin’s Form Responses area! It’s as if no one filled out the form at all.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve run into issues.

Could you give me more details about the issue? Do you see an error message in your site’s sidebar, or when entering your Twitter username in the Widget settings?

The following error occurs on the site’s sidebar:

Error: Twitter did not respond. Please wait a few minutes and refresh this page.

    Thanks.

Can you let me know your site URL, so I can have a look?

Not sure how, but suddenly it’s working when it wasn’t at all until about ten minutes ago.

This is often a Twitter API issue. Twitter restricts the number of times their API can be called, so it could be that if you are on a shared server with other users also accessing Twitter’s API, that Twitter is rate limiting the shared server.

We’ve attempted several fixes for this by instituting caching in the Jetpack widget. These aren’t perfect solutions, though they have helped.

We’re looking at revamping the entire widget in the near future.

    Thanks for the feedback 🙂
