Fix Missing required field “updated”

    I know this is an issue that deals with the single.php file, but I don’t know how to add a code to fix the missing required field “updated” for google webmaster tools (so that I may show up in search engines properly). Where in the theme’s CSS or files can I add a code to fix these issues?
