Support » Plugin: Twitter Widget Pro » Fix for Twitter updates

  • The problem is caused by a bug on the code (I don’t detected it yet), than doesn’t delete some records from wp_options in the database. To fix it, you must write this SQL request:
    DELETE FROM wp_options WHERE option_name LIKE (‘%tlc%’);

    I detect than sometimes the plugin create some aditionals records with duplicated information and the TWP get the updates from them. You can delete them with this another SQL request:
    DELETE FROM wp_options WHERE option_name LIKE (‘%twitter_data%’);

    I’m looking for the bug on the TLC_Transient class, and when I find it I’ll publish the fix, or, perhaps, I’ll add a function for delete this records once a day.

    I’m sure these request will help to somebody.

  • Sorry, the “twitter_data” records are created by Really Simple Twitter Feed Widget, but it’s very important than you delete them to update the Twitter Widget Pro.

    Thanks! That worked for me. Did you find the bug in the code? Or did you write a function to delete the records once a day?

    I made it only for you 😉

    Hack para Twitter Widget Pro

    I tried it on two installations and it works perfectly.

    I hope you enjoy it.

    There is actually a link in the on the settings page labelled “Clear Update Locks” which does exactly this. I know that some people have had problems with these locks not getting cleared, but I’ve never been able to reproduce. If you’re having to do this on a regular basis, I’d love to know why!

    Hi Aaron. I did this fix because the plugin doesn’t update the tweets on my WordPress installations. I use your great plugin in almost 15 WordPress blogs, and in all one I’d the same problem 🙁

    Looking for the bug, I’d write this little fix, because I’d never found the “error” 🙁

    Today I’m update your plugin and I remove my fix to try the new function.

    In some days I’ll tell to you something.

    Thank’s a lot for your great job.

    Ah, and that button don’t clear the cache in my blogs 🙁
