  • Resolved sdleader

I recently moved over to wordpress from Blogger and imported my blog from blogger to wordpress using the import function. I notice now that most if not all my posts have the word “Tweet” as the first word of the post, see below:
“Tweet One of the main factors attributed to failure, is the absence of clear and measurable goals. However…”

What caused this and how can I fix it?

  • Hi,

I am not exactly sure as to what could have generated that issue: perhaps an error while moving or a blogger social media tool that inserted that on your posts for some reason.
What I would do to fix it is a Database search query under the posts table from PHPMyAdmin to remove all instances of “Tweet” (after backing up your DB, of course). If you don’t know how to do that, or would rather not tamper with the DB directly, there’s a neat plugin that you can use from the WP Admin Panel: Search and Replace.

    Good luck!

Thank you for the advice Marventus, I will give it a try. I think I will go the plugin route 🙂

Were you able to figure this out? If so, could you please mark this topic as resolved?

I found the problem, it is one of my plugins (Social Sharing Toolkit) that is causing the problem, but I could not yet solve the problem. I have contacted the plugin developer, but no feedback yet.
If someone can assist me with this particular problem I would appreciate it.

What happens if you disable the plugin? Does the word “Tweet” still remain in your post titles?
Also, does the plugin come with options where you can set a category or keyword to mark post titles?
In the mean time, I’ll try the plugin out see what I can find.

If I disable the plugin the “Tweet” disappears in my feeds. The problem is I really like the plugin and it works fine otherwise, so I don’t want to disable it.
There is no option to set categories or keywords as far a I can see.
Thanks for the help, I appreciate it!

I just got around to this: sorry about that.
    Is this the plugin responsible?

    Hi There,
Yes, that’s the one! It works actually quite well, except for the “Tweet” issue.

Yeah, I just tried it out and it seems very practical.
I was not able to replicate the issue though. I did notice that there is an option called “Automatic Twitter links”. Did you try turning it off?
Did you also try to disable all your other plugins and leaving just the Social Sharing Toolkit plugin enabled?
The issue might be caused by a plugin interaction.
Also, what WP version are you running?
Sorry for the 20 questions, but I’m really puzzled by this so I’m trying to gather as much information as possible.

Also what features of that plugin are you using? We may be able to suggest an alternative 🙂

The “Automatic Twitter Links” option is disabled. I did go through an exercise where I disabled all the plugins and this is how I found that the Social Sharing toolkit was causing the problem. I also followed your advice and once again disabled all but this plugin but the problem remained, so I guess its not a plugin interaction issue.
I am on WP Version 3.2.1.

I am using the social sharing buttons ie. Facebook like , Stumble, Linkedin etc at the top and bottom of my posts and then I also use the “social connection” buttons pointing to my twitter account, facebook page and RSS subscription.
