Support » Plugin: Jackmail Newsletters » First step fails, doesn’t send test messages. And I don’t want the SMTP service

  • I’m in a crunch and I don’t have time to ask customer support about something that should work right out of the box.

The builder is very nice and produced a lovely message, but when I tried to test-send the message (to two different accounts) neither one of them arrived. The spam score came back at 10/10, with 5 being the lower limit to avoid. I understand your moderation policy for a first campaign, but when I’m evaluating this for production use sending a non-spammy test message to myself needs to be instantaneous.

Also, I don’t WANT to use your SMTP service. Our small non-profit already pays a hosting service for email and I don’t see the reason to pay for another, particularly when our lists are only a few hundred names long. I also don’t want to have to break up our lists into smaller lists (so I can keep below the 100 per day limit) because that adds a whole other management task for me. I’d suggest you set up some kind of queuing, at least; otherwise it’s not viable even for a test run.

Addendum: When de-activating the plugin it warns you that you will loose [sic] all your data and will need to start over. You won’t — campaigns and templates are still there when you re-activate. Also, the button says “uninstall” when it really means “de-activate.”
