First crack at WordPress (7 posts)

Just thought I'd show off my first attempt at a WordPress site for a client that runs a B&B and Golf course. The theme is designed from scratch and seemed to go fairly smoothly. It at least seems to be doing all it should.

If you'd like to take a look the site can be found at http://www.elm-lodge.org.uk

Just out of interest I wonder if anyone knows of a solution within WordPress that could make the three portal links at the base of the page editable. At present these are static, but its a common request to have elements like this so in future I'd like to at least have the option to have the client update them themselves.

nice to see that the site shows well even in IE7.

for the three sections, you could consider to use custom post types or advanced text widgets.

The original site was developed ia long time ago by someone else and not in WordPress. I actually thought it was much older than that.

I archived the previous version you can see it here >> http://www.elm-lodge.org.uk/OLD-SITE

Nice Site. The header text on the homepage WELCOME TO .... in my mind is ''off balance'' and creates some white space which I would have used I think. And on this url http://www.elm-lodge.org.uk/weddings-events/recommended-services/ which is super, but also some white space which I would maybe use better.
But overall the site looks nice and polished and I bet the website owners must be super impressed in comparison with the old version :)
