Firewall breaking other sites on same server

    I’ve noticed that since installing the wordfence with the firewall option, various strange things have been happening.

    We have a “dev” folder as part of our main site where we setup development websites to show clients. These suddenly started failing, with warnings about wordfence-waf.php file. Seems wordfence has been busy adding new user.ini files to most of our wordpress dev sites!

    Quite alarming when you go to visit one of these sites and you just get a warning.

    Like others, also having problems exporting sites with duplicator now. Have to check the “remove data” option and uninstall wordfence before creating backups. Really could use a proper solution for this, as we encourage clients to use wordfence and duplicator but there’s little point in them creating backups if they can’t be restored because of some conflict with the wordfence firewall 🙁

    I’m sorry to hear you are having such problems with the combination of these two plugins. We have a bug filed for this and we are working on the issue. Our internal case number is FB1903. We hope to have a fix in one of the upcoming versions of Wordfence.
