Firefox – Connection Interrupted Issue

    Hi all,

    I’m a new WordPress user and have been having problems with Firefox displaying my site. Here’s what happens:

    * Firefox will load site just fine for a few minutes (15-20 or so)
    * After a while Firefox (and only FF) will return a ‘Connection Interrupted’ page:

    “The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
    The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.”

    * While this is happening I can get to my site just fine in IE, Safari etc and when I call GoDaddy support they say the site is working fine and that it is a WordPress issue.
    * If I make a change to the site (theme / plugin etc) then the site in FF comes back up again for another short period of time.

    Are there any logs I can view to work out why FF is aborting the connection?

    Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve tried changing the theme and disabling plugins, but the same thing occurs – over and over!

    Please help!! 🙂

    You’ve got a couple of validation errors associated with text widgets that may be causing some problems but I wouldn’t have expected FF to drop the connection because of them.

    I’ve had your home page open in FF 3.0.11 for about 8 minutes now and it all still looks fine. No ongoing connections. No network dropout but I appreciate that this may not be long enough judging by what you’ve described.

    What plugins are you running? Are there any that run periodical updates or try to connect to 3rd party sites? Have you tried deactivating all plugins and seeing if that resolves the problem?

    Thanks very much for the reply… I removed the bit of code that I put in for my twitter image since that seemed to be part of the validation errors.

    I’ll keep an eye on it and see if that fixes it!!

    And it’s down again! I’m disabling all plugins again now to see how long it runs for! Geez

    I changed hosting providers from GoDaddy to Bluehost and my problem has gone away. Wonder what in the GoDaddy config actually caused the issue?! Oh well – I’ll never know I guess!! 🙂

    Have you learned anymore about the “connection was reset” error? Also, did you have this issue any further after switching the Blue Host from GoDaddy? I am considering changing hosts but want to know how it went with your case. Look forward to your reply.

    I am getting it too also the css and the images are not loading up on refresh some times and some times no problem. both in the admin and the site

    sorry running 2.9.1 and yes still having the issue :-0

    firefox and safari both having issues with this

    dont know if its the hosting (most likely ) or issue with wordpress

    running two plug ins… and withouth have same issue

    hosing company said they corrected the web directory permissions and that it is working fine now ) only that in reality it is working in firefox but not safari
    still showing the same issues in safari

    getting server is too busy and connection was reset also missing images on reload of same page (any page_ it comes and it goes ……….
