• I liked the Codex Search plugin for WordPress, but had another plugin that wanted to output up there in the upper right, plus I didn’t want to have to visit my blog in order to easily be able to search without typing in “codex…” into my browser.

So, I wrote a quicksearch for Firefox! 🙂 (Not it was hard though, lol. Took like 2 minutes.)

You can snag it right here (at the bottom).

Hopefully others will find this useful.

[edit] Just realized that that WP plugin also searches the forums. If anyone wants that for Firefox, let me know. 🙂 [/edit]

  • OooOo. Wicked cool. I love it. You could use search.wordpress.org instead of the yucky mediawiki search as the results engine, although I’m not terribly fond of the results it comes up with. If you can figure it out from the plugin, we’re using the yahoo search API, which you could use as well. Lovin’ it!

Yeah, I personally wanted to keep the results seperate, i.e. most of the time I just wanna search the codex.

But yeah, if anyone wants a combined one, it’d take like 2 seconds to make. 🙂

Sweet. But yes, a forums search would be cool as well.
