 * Hi. I hope this is an OK place to leave this request as I didn’t see anything
   more appropriate.
 * We are looking for a theme where we can create the following:
 * The front page will have a graphical header we create. Underneath hat will be
3 options to click on to — a login, a donate and an informational. Beneath that
will be our mission statement, and then a graphical footer that we can create
   again.
 * Once a person becomes a member and can enter the site, we would like to have
a structure of some 15 or 20 options, all where we can put small pictures on
the site that they click on to enter. The site will either allow them in or deny
   them based on their security.
 * Within each subsection will be additional subsections that we setup.
 * We also will need some forums and some chat options.
 * Can anyone recommend a theme to begin with to start getting this setup? Additionally,
what other modules (widgets?) will be needed for the security functionality,
   item specific forums, chats, etc?
 * Thank you.

 * Your description is not of a theme; it’s of a page you create and add on to with
   a couple of plugins.
You should be able to choose any theme that you like (that
supports header images) and be fine. You can look at [membership](https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/member/)
   plugins and [forum](https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/forum/) plugins and
   [chat](https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/chat/) plugins.

 * Thank you. So to ensure I understand, with any theme that supports header images
I can adjust the front page and subsequent pages as I see fit? And then as you
stated the other functions are plugins?

 * The theme unifies the style of the pages with things like header, sidebar, menu,
footer, but mostly styles like color, font, spacing.
    You control the content
of each page through the editor and plugins you add. Themes are intentionally
limited in functionality, so you can switch themes at any time. Plugins add functionality
   that core WP doesn’t have.
