Finding FTP info to upload themes while hosting locally

    Hey just started using wordpress the other day so just figuring out how everything works still. I want to upload custom theme that I got offline, but can’t find my FTP information. On other posts I have seen that you need to get your FTP info and to run a file uploading program, but I am hosting locally and do not have a domain name yet so I cannot get my FTP info from there. Would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me out!

    Once you get a hosting account, your host will provide you with the FTP information that you need, most importantly, the IP address of the server where you will upload your files, as well as the user ID & password to access that FTP account (unless your host provides you with some sort of control panel where you set up your own FTP user ID & password). Until you do get a host and open an account, that information is moot.

    One of the most popular FTP programs is FileZilla. Download and install the client program.
