Is there software or maybe a wp plugin that will allow me to do a find and replace for text throughout the (php) documents on my server?

I’ve done a bunch of searching, and I haven’t found anything that quite does that (or I just haven’t understood what I’ve read).

    Thank you.

  • The only WP related .php files in your WP install are the core files and your them(s). What exactly do you want to replace in those?

If you mean the content of posts, you would need to run an SQL query in the database.

I assume that posts is what you mean ?

Hi podz, moshu – no, not in posts, but in the php files.

Here’s what’s going on: my RSS feed suddenly began timing out, and after much discussion with my webhost, he finally said:

***Do you know if there are any places in your code or settings where you refer to any file by “http://www.sitename.com/file.php” instead of just “file.php”? the way we have the network setup now, it makes a BIG speed difference.***

So, I need to go through every document on my server and weed those out…manually if necessary.

I’ve figured out the problem (only took me two weeks of agony!) The ShortStat plugin was interfering with my RSS feed. Disabled it, and feeds came back immediately.

If ShortStat was a person, I would punch it in the neck.
