Filtering within posts and subcategories

I am currently using the free version of the plug-in and love it. However, I want to create separate pages that have a particular post category and use your plug-in to filter the sub-categories within that category. Is this possible (happy to pay for the full version if this is an option)? I tried using the shortcode [pgaf_post_filter cat_id=”28” include_cat_child=”true”] to only display one category, to see if that then allowed me to filter by subcategory, but this still seems to show all posts within the page. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi – I need to have a category page / archive, eg: http://appliedliveart.org/category/conferences/, and then be able to use the filter to filter the SUB-categories within that category on that specific page / archive?
