 * Hi,
 * I have a problem with the filtering option, if i use a name in a productfield
   like “Doe, John” it doesn’t show the products related to that name.
 * I guess it has to do with the , sign because if i use “Doe John” it works.
    I
   have to use the , sign in the field because i want to sort on lastname.
 * For my next problem i will open a new ticket to keep things separated…

 * Just found another bug in filtering, when i use a productfieldname for example“
   technique” and fill 3 products with “brass” and another product with “welded
   brass” the filtering is messing up, if i filter on “brass” it will show me 4
   products instead of 3, the ones with field “brass” and the one with field “welded
   brass”. If you look at them in the filter list they seem okay, “brass (3) “welded
   brass (1)
 * It’s a pity that there are so many bugs in this plugin, UPC has surely potential
   but it takes a lot of time to get it the way you want, or better, the way it
   should be…..

 * Hi Phoenix,
 * We’ve released an update that should correct the custom field sorting when you’ve
   got a substring match for the attribute name.
 * For the text search, can you post a link? We didn’t have any issue with commas
   not matching when we tested.

 * Hi phoenix,
 * Give version 3.5.32 a try, and see if that works.
 * For the text filtering, is there a particular name that isn’t working? I tried“
   Eerd, Hans” in the text box, and that seemed to work fine.

 * Hi,
 * I’ve updated to version 3.5.34 and now the filtering isn’t working anymore, no
   matter which filter in the productfields i check, it won’t display the according
   product….

 * Hi phoenix,
 * It seems that even without the filtering the products are not all displayed.
   There are 11 displayed, while we count 12 on the sidebar.
 * Would it be possible for you to send us an e-mail with screenshots of what is
   going on in the back-end? More specifically your products, catalogue, and categories.
 * Also, what are the options that you have selected for Tag Logic and Product Search
   in the Options > Basic tab?
 * Please e-mail us with this information at [contactetoilewd@gmail.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/filtering-not-oke/contactetoilewd@gmail.com?output_format=md)
 * Thank you very much,

 * Updated to V3.5.36
 * I have done a new test, changed the KUNSTENAAR name: “Jos van Beek” to “Beek,
   Jos van” and guess what, it did not show the product anymore….
    It did show the
   product when the name was “”Jos van Beek”
 * So it seems the filtering is messing up when the name contains a “,”.
 * The other filtering options like HUURPRIJS, TECHNIEK etc. are working fine.
 * The 12th product that did not show up was because i placed that one on hide for
   testing purposes….

 * Hi phoenix,
 * Great to hear that the sidebar filtering is working correctly.
 * For the text, the plugin string matches, so it’s working correctly when “Beek,
   Jos van” doesn’t match for “Jos van Beek”. It’s a general use plugin, so filtering
   characters out isn’t possible as other users might want that functionality. You
   can send us an email for a customization quote if you need something specific
   to your situation.

 * Hi,
 * I think you don’t understand exactly what i mean, i do not want to filter characters
   out, i want to use the “,” in the name because i want to sort on Last name, at
   the moment the filtering is not working with the “,” inside the text.
 * So in short, i want the filter to work with a “,” character in the text.
    This
   is not the case right now….

 * In the “Options” tab under “Basic”, is “Product Search” set to “Name, Description
   and Custom Fields”?

 * Hi Phoenix,
 * Can you explain further what you feel isn’t working? It seems to filter correctly,
   [as seen in this screenshot](http://etoilewebdesign.com/Screenshots/phoenix_screenshot.png).

 * Yes i know, the SEARCH field is working oke, that’s not the problem
 * Try the following;
 * – empty search field
    – select a name from the FILTER list “Kunstenaar”
 * You will notice that UPC does not show a result, it gives the message “No products
   found”

 * Oh, perfect, that makes a lot of sense with how arrays are turned into strings
   by default in javascript.
 * Thanks for the explanation, V3.5.41 should handle that little quirk in text custom
   fields 🙂

 * It’s working now!
 * Many thanks for the quick fix! 🙂
 * _P.s. My list of Artists is very large, for now, the filtering with the checkbox
   is oke but when i have entered all the names it will not be a good solution for
   me, it will not look nice on the webpage due to the many names._
 * It would be nice if we have the possibility in thumbnail view to chose between
   a dropdown also for the filter, especially with many fields in a filter it would
   look much better on the webpage….Just a little thought… 😉
