    Hi,

I’m looking for a way to select multiple categories at the sidebar in our websites’ shop. Right now it is only possible to select one category at the time.

Also, when there is no category selected, the shop page shows an order from the lowest price to the highest price. Once a category is selectied, this price filter dissapears and all prices are mixed again. Is there a way to still have the price selected from high to low, even with one or more categories selected?

Another issue is that I tried to make a filter based on various attributes. In the sidebar widget I selected a few attributes and they also visually showed up at the shopping page. The products were also actually connected to them, but as soon as you selected an attribute in the sidebar filter, there was no result. Filtering simply didn’t work. Does anyone know what was causing this and how to make it work? I heard once that it can be because of the Divi theme, but don’t know if this can be true.

Thanks in advance for helping me out

  • Hello @francisjansen ,

Out of the box, WooCommerce doesn’t come with a widget or filter that will allow you to select multiple categories at a time.

You will need to use a plugin that allows such filters. For example, you can try Product Filters for WooCommerce which comes with live filters of categories, attributes, tags, taxonomies, price, stock status. If you have any question about this extension, you can create a ticket.

You can set the default sorting in archive pages from Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Catalog page:

However, since you are using Divi, that can have additional settings for this that overrides default WooCommerce’s settings so make sure to contact them if needed.

I am not sure if I’ve understood the problem properly. Can you please give me a screenshot or share the URL of the page where you have these attribute filters available?

    Thank you.

Thank you! I saved a screenshot to the snipboard. The filters in the sidebar simply don’t work when you select one in the webshop: https://eigenstroomopslaan.nl/shop/

    Hi @francisjansen,

Thanks for getting back and sharing a link as well as a screenshot of what you meant here:

I took a closer look and saw that you were using the Filter Everything plugin for this.

You will want to contact the authors of this plugin to check why nothing happens when you try filtering attributes using it. Here’s their support forum – https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/filter-everything/

    I hope this helps.
