I would love to be able to filter by referring website where there is one. If I have an inbound link, I want to prioritize fixing that. I get many more 404s from bots and can’t easily filter those out to focus on bad inbound links that a human clicked on.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

You can use the referrer match as explained here:

Useful info but not what I am looking to do. To be more specific:

On the page that displays 404s, I want to be able to view a list of only 404s with a valid referrer/user agent. So I can differentiate a human action versus a bot when reviewing 404 errors.

    e.g. On this page mysite.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=redirection.php&sub=404s

I can currently sort by date, source URL, or search. I would like the be able to sort and filter by referrer on that page.

Bots also send referrer information and otherwise pretend to be human – there’s no guaranteed way to differentiate them. If there was then anti-spam software would be a lot more accurate.

Also, to add, not every human visitor sends a referrer, and it’s easy for a bot to fake both referrer and user agent. I understand wanting to remove bot stuff, and it’s something I hope to have a better solution for in the future.
