Forums » Plugin: Better Search - Relevant search results for WordPress » Filter by custom post types

  • Hi, I am using your plugin on every project that uses search engine, and it works great. But, lately I came across a major problem. I’ve got one default search bar (works good) and two custom post type search bars that should return only selected custom post type posts. Sadly I have no idea how to archive that. Searchbar returns all posts on page. For example, in standard WordPress searchform its really simple, you just have to add hidden input field with custom post type name. Is there any simple solution for that?

I tried to deactivate plugin when the searchform url had a specific address, but that didn’t solve the problem.

    Thanks,

    Wojtek

Can you please provide me with:
    – Your site URL where this is taking place?
    – What is the code of your search form for custom post types

this functionality doesn’t exist out of the box, but I think this can be implemented once I know what the search form submits

    Hey, thank you for contact.
    Naturally, it’s here – http://bartek.creavity.pl/
It’s in polish, so you might have some troubles understainding it.

The main searchbar is here: http://bartek.creavity.pl/blog/

    CPT “definitions” searchbar – http://bartek.creavity.pl/definicje/

For now i have resolved my question by implementing another plugin – ivory search. It does it’s job, but doesn’t have “popular searches” functionality.
