# Files URL

 * What exactly is the “Files URL” setting used for?
 * If I set the files URL to : [https://mydomain.org/files](https://mydomain.org/files)
   and the Pubilc Root Path to : /home/me/wpfm
 * with a file /home/me/wpfm/file.jpg
 * and use URL [https://mydomain.org/files/file.jpg](https://mydomain.org/files/file.jpg)
   I would expect the file back? I get a 404.

 * If you are using additional folder name in your root path then you need to use
   folder name in url also.
 * Example: Default Root Path: home/user/wordpress
 * And URl: [https://yourwebsite.com](https://yourwebsite.com)
 * Now you are adding test in root path.
 * Then Path will be
 * home/user/wordpress/test
 * And now you url will be
 * [https://yourwebsite.com/test](https://yourwebsite.com/test)
