Support » Plugin: Media from FTP » File's names and localization folder changes

  • Hi, I’m trying to update the media library database with already uploaded stuff by ftp.
When using this plugin many of the image names are changed with a code (ie c89de21d208287e9858691e9b6a3c43d-570×454.jpg) and the folder structure is also modified.
Luckily I’ve made a test first in local, otherwise it had been a serious problem…

Is it posible to avoid this issue?

    Hi diggeridoo,

If checked “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders”, it will move the file at the time of registration to year month-based folders. If you want to register in the same directory, Please uncheck.

    Please read FAQ.

    Thank you Katsushi 🙂

In the case of name changing by multi-byte character in it, this will affect to any language other than english, spanish in my case, and affect normal characters in utf8 like ‘ñ,á,é,ó,…’. Please note that changing the file name will break also the links to the images already used on the site.

Is there any way to solve this?
Keeping the original name will be very useful to update or refresh an existing media library with the registered in the wp database.

    Hi diggeridoo,

The file name of the multi-byte is variously troublesome. I had to leave only the title name by the MD5 conversion.

If you did want to leave the filename of the multi-byte, please try commenting out 433 line from the 406 line of “inc/MediaFromFtp”. However, this is not recommended. In addition, I do not even test.
