File/s modified daily report

    New user of BWPS and so far so ‘very’ good; thanks for the plugin I have sent a small donation which can be topped up if/when I understand it better.

    I am receiving a daily email alert telling me that ‘file/s change warning’.
    Error log shows daily at different times the following:

    File modified hash
    error_log 2013-02-12, 12:02 PM d09700b31f90eed6xxxxxxxxcd7b48

    The number string is different on every warning.

    Should I be worried????

    Nothing to be worried.

    You received the warning because you have enabled the file/s change notifications.

    Normally, files in your website may changed because of many possibilities. Most possible one is the plugins you use. For example, happened on one of my site, a plugin that randomly generate captcha images will frequently change the image files. So I do receive the alerts telling me the files changed.

    As you can see, the file being modified is a error log file. Most log files will be frequently changed, so it is nothing to be worried.

    I had hoped the message was simply a ‘procedural’ one as opposed to a hack attempt.

    Yes, you’re right.

    On my File Manager (cPanel), I did see a file on my website which also named error_log too, it frequent changed. So I think your case is same as mine.
