    I have installed Contest Gallery plugin after reading so much positive reactions. Kind of sad it doesn’t work straight out of the box for me. Really wanted to buy the PRO version after taking it for a test run.

    The plugin installation does not return any errors. Then creating a first gallery gives a lot of possibilities. After setting a few, try to integrate it to the page and get the message:

    cg_users_upload shortcode information:
    wp-content/uploads/contest-gallery… folder and files can not be found or read.
    They might be deleted by someone manually or wrong files/folders permissions are set.

    Tried to figure out what I do wrong, but cannot figure it out and do not find any help to make this right. So please tell me what to do, to make this work because it looks like a very strong plugin.

    Does such folder exists? Can the content be accessed from frontend?
    Does the folder contains any files?

    Do you have to make the folder yourself? I expected the software to make these folders for placing images by contestents?

    Yesterday I checked and there was no such directory. Made it myself but no effect.
    Have to help custumers now, will try in about an hour to make directory myself and give permissions.

    Where does it say you have to make these directories? I can not find any info on that :(.

    No of course the software makes the folder :).

    Please create a new gallery with new id and try new shortcode with new id.

    I did a reinstall with the download version from your website and got a message that directory 2021/2 could not be made. It asked if there is enough permission.

    Checked it out and the permission should be okay.

    I checked again and copied message:
    Unable to create directory uploads/2021/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    It doesn’t create a directory contest/gallery as well.

    Have to step out for work again. Hope you can do something with this info?

    Be back later to check out progress and try some new suggestions.

    Please ask your server provider or some admin why WordPress plugins can not execute such function:

    mkdir($galleryUploadFolder, 0755, true);

    Something must be wrong with permissions for user/group.

    You could also download “Query Monitor” plugin which is available here in repository, which shows suchs failures pretty well, maybe more detailed.

    Thanks for your info. Installed, but not to familiair with what to look for now.
    Do I reinstall, to see what happens or do I have to look for info right now? Not much is out of place.

    It sounds like complete missconfigurated system.
    That is very unusual. This failure is not triggered from my plugin.
    wp-admin/includes/class-file-upload-upgrader is typicial wordpress class.
    I don’t know from here.
    Maybe system repair or complete system reinstall should be done.
