    Hi All
I would like to change the file upload path for storage of static files.

I have a site with the default upload path and my service provider suggests a better frontend performence by changing the static files storeage place.

A have made a "files.xxx.dk" domain for the purpose.

    1. A have hear that the .htacess file has to changed - how?
    2. And the filepath setting in the super admin part - where?
    3. Have wil it work with the old files on xxx.dk domain?
    4. And should I move all the old files?
    5. will it work with cache plugins like "w3 Total cache"?

    Best,
    Jesper

  2. Eeeh it can be done but it's complicated.

http://code.ipstenu.org/2010/moving-your-images-for-multisite/ has some screenshots on how to move them around to WordPress defaults. You can extrapolate what you need for your site.

I don't know if it'll work with W3TC. Maybe you could leverage that and do it like a CDN though.

Yes it looks a little complicated. Could I instead just change the path and thus only have the new images files.mydomain.dk?

  4. I'm not sure how well it'd work. You may need to experiment some (I don't know if it'd lose some of the older images, basically).
