  • Hi,
I have a problem with the file upload tool of WordPress 1.5.
First: the permissions are set correctly.

When I press “upload file” WordPress reports “File of type is not allowed.” It seems that the PHP variable $_FILES['img1']['name'] can’t be read. Since I’m not very familiar with PHP I don’t know where to start.

    Thanks for your help!

  • You can upload files with the extension jpg, jpeg, gif, png as long as they are no larger than 200 KB.

Are you using an extension other than those listed?

No, extension is jpg and jpg is configured. I changed the upload.php and added an echo for the $_FILES variable, but it is empty. May this be a configuration error of PHP?

I’m seeing the same problem has anyone found the resolution to sirlinux’s issue?

Even though you can set the upload filesize limit in WordPress, there is also a similar upload filesize limit in PHP itself. PHP’s upload filesize limit may be set too low or may not be set at all. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to set it.
