File upload limit?

  • I just tried to upload 2 video’s using the Admin-panel and both times it didn’t went well. I didn’t recieve an error-message but I got some sort of message saying the file was not available in the panel. Using FTP I found out that the files were not uploaded at all!

    Using FTP for uploading works fine of course, but I want userfriendliness. Can someone confirm please if WordPress puts a upload limit on files trough the Admin-panel? It might be less than 10 Mb which WordPress can handle right? Tricky when uploading podcasts and vidcasts…

    Thank you so much in advance for help!

  • most servers limit the size of uploads to 2048 KB, by default, within the php.ini

    2048K = 2Mbytes = approx 2,100,000 bytes

    I do not think that WordPress sets any limits beyond that which is already there.

    Media files can get fairly large, that or your host might have a lower limit.

    Thanks I will check into that. I am hosting at DreamHost.
