So I installed this plugin, set up staging and everything did work great. But now I fear that doing so has changed a few file permissions and is now preventing me from uploading images to my site or installing plugins. For example I get this message when trying to upload a picture: The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/

Similarly when I try to install a plugin (on both Staging and my original website) I get:
    Unpacking the package…

    Could not create directory.

I know problems like these arise with migration or setting up a Dev environment and was wondering if this issue was ever discovered during testing and if there’s a way to solve this.

    Thanks

    Hi,

WP Staging never touches any files of the production site. So its very unlikly that this permission error is caused by the plugin.Does image uploading and plugin installation work before you installed wp staging?

However, permission issues can be solved probably via ftp. Try 744 or 755 for the upload folder.

    Does it help?

If not please send me a mail to support (at) wp-staging.com.

    Regards,
    Rene
