    a red box pops up in the right hand corner saying upload not complete. missing temporary file. i dont know what file it means

    It’s something like a temporary file created by the server (and updated) as the image uploads. Do you know how to debug? (check Debugging_in_WordPress). Have you tried contacting your host?

    i have not contacted my host yet. Im not great with computer stuff, but from the debug post you sent am i supposed to add the define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
    define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false); somewhere in my codes?

    now i get an error message saying missing a temporary folder.

    That’s a server configuration issue. Contact your hosts about it and ensure that you send them a copy of the full error message.

    how do you get a copy of the full error message. Sorry im not great with all this. still learning. the only message i know of is the one that pops up

    And what does this error message say? You need to copy the exact text rather than paraphrasing it.

    when i upload and it fails all i get is a red box pops up in the right hand corner saying upload not complete. missing temporary file
    thats all it says

    Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.
