Hi,

Wordfence has showed several times that a file called “cookie.txt” located in the wp-admin folder has been found. I tried to delete it, but it was still created.

What is the file and has my site been hacked? Any suggestions to block this file?

May I ask if you have any plugins that might have generated this file?

There is one plugin that comes to mind called Rankie that create a cookie.txt file in the document root.

I found this comment on their support site: https://codecanyon.net/item/rankie-wordpress-rank-tracker-plugin/7605032/comments?page=13&filter=all#comment_13841324

The author says that it’s a file created by cURL to facilitate in cookie management. You can safely ignore this file.
