# File Editor Missing

 * I need to update my clients’ website’s Robots.txt file and add some redirects
   in .htaccess, but the file editor is missing. I have tried to deactivate and 
   activate the plugin, but it’s not working.
 * Please let me know how to fix the issue.

   htaccess` using Yoast SEO plugin.
 * If the `robots.txt` and `.htaccess` files are [not writable](https://yoast.com/kb/if-your-robots-txt-were-writeable-error)
   or your WordPress install has [disabled file editing](http://codex.wordpress.org/Hardening_WordPress#Disable_File_Editing),
   Yoast SEO won’t work on them. So, you’ll need to [edit them at the server level](https://yoast.com/help/how-to-edit-htaccess-through-yoast-seo/#server).
