Hi, I’m working in a re-design of a website and I’ve installed Types in order to make easier the management of custom post types, taxonomies and custom fields. According to the wireframe I got from customer, we need to put some field to allow a “flexible media”, in another words: she wants have the option to upload an image or video, but without a “rule” (she doesn’t want separated fields, but once for both). If I add an image input (to pick an imagem from library), she will can upload a video too, from there? Or, will we need really put 2 fields separately, one for image and other for video (mp4, avi, whatever…) ?

  • Dear João

You can choose “file” instead “image” or “video”. In “file” type field you can choose any file type. But is a dark side of this.

In field “image” or “video” – Types knows what is inside and can build proper html. Types use IMG tag for images and other syntax for video.

In the other hand, we do not know in Types what you put in “file” type field and you have only option to show “raw” value of filed and you must handle this (recognize and htmlize) on Theme site.

    Cheers,
    Marcin
