Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » Few pages by PeepSo marked with noindex

  • Dear Yoast,

We found 4 pages that are marked as “noindex” by Yoast. These pages are generated by a social network plugin called PeepSo. Notice that these are all profile pages. But the problem embraces only these 4 profiles and not the other 160, which is strange. Another thing is that these 4 profiles are admins of the website.

Do you have an idea how we can fix this? Us trying to fix this is good for SEO, right?

    Thanks,

    Damyan

Go to Users->All Users and click on one of the usernames that show a noindex. Scroll down and find the Yoast SEO Settings. If “Do not allow search engines to show this author’s archives in search results.” is checked, this outputs a noindex tag. Unchecking the box will remove the noindex tag.

Repeat for each noindexed author profile.

Thank you for the reply @amboutwe !
The thing is that the box has never been checked: https://imgur.com/EZ6XY0T

And the problem is there despite of that.

As the box is not checked, this may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please disable all plugins except Yoast SEO, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the noindex goes away on the profiles, enable plugins one by one (starting with PeepSo) to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin offers a troubleshooting mode that will disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. Once in the troubleshooting mode, please activate only Yoast SEO and attempt to reproduce the issue you described.

If you are unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts
