I am testing 3.0 before I move my blog from 2.92
test blog was working fine until now when all of sudden this error showed up:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare twentyten_filter_wp_title() (previously declared in /home/virtual/XXX …/blog/wp-content/themes/mytwentyten/functions.php:226) in /home/virtual/XXX …/blog/wp-content/themes/twentyten/functions.php on line 225
Interesting thing is I did not touch functions.php for last three days. And everything was working fine till now. Now I can’t get to my admin or the blog page.
I am using my child theme of twentyten.
Please help. Thanks.
Thanks esmi for your reply,
Have you checked functions.php?
Honestly, I have no clue what to check.
This what I did and seems to work, that is, I deleted the “twentyten” theme folder. Now just have mytwentyten folder that has all twentyten files, but with my modifications.
Is that ok what I did? Please guide. Thanks.
It looks like you’ve used
function twentyten_filter_wp_title()twice in functions.php. See the error message for the line numbers. One of those lines has to be removed.
Thanks esmi for your time and help.
One of those lines has to be removed.
That’s exactly what tried first. Ifremoved one line, the it asked me remove another down the page, then another …
Then I decided to delete the “twentyten” folder from the themes directory, just keeping the theme folder ( I call it “mytwentyten”) with my modifications.
Please educate me:
Qestion 1: If I have “mytwentyten” theme folder with all the twentyten files, do I stil need to keep the default “twentyten” folder that came with the wp3 in my themes directory at my server?
Qestion 2: If I need to or want to or if its advisable to keep both “mytwenty” and the default “twentyten” folders in the theme directory at my server, what exactly I need to remove from the functions.php of “mytwentyten” file so it does create duplicate withe functions.php of the default “twentyten”?
Thanks esmi. I apprecite your help very much. Based on the help I recieved from you in the past, I know you are a genious!
Is the “mytwentyten” theme a standalone theme or a child of TwentyTen?
