Feedzy Plugin Gives Fatal Error & Destroys Website

Been using your plugin for over a year; the images from Google news stopped working last winter and your support team claimed a fix was coming. Still waiting, whatever … but now Feedzy is causing a critical error that kills the site completely.

All my site shows is a “There has been a critical error on your website” message and white screen. The WP Debugger log shows Feedzy errors all down the page. If I deactivate the plugin the site comes back.

These same feeds have been working for the past two years with no changes on our end. I’ll reserve further reviews and opinions until I hear something from your support team.

@johnroyce please provide the below details to enable us to help you:
- if you are using the shortcode please paste the entire shortcode without any redaction
- if you are using the block editor, please share a screenshot
- what is the version of WP and the plugin?
- is it happening to a particular page or all pages that use feedzy?

■ WP Version 5.3.2

■ This is only happening on the front page using feedzy. For example, here is another page on the site: https://www.clean-round.com/site-log/

■ Using Divi builder … do you want a screenprint of the builder edit page?

■ There are several shortcodes being used … here’s the main one:

@johnroyce I mean use the code tags in the forum to paste the shortcode so that it does not get mangled. For example, [feedzy] is out of the code tags and [feedzy] is within the code tags. Please read the forum FAQs/documentation to understand how to do this.

Hello @johnroyce ,

The first URL mentioned in the shortcode is not a valid feed URL, but a site URL :
https://www.bing.com/news/search?q=%22show+jumping%22&FORM=HDRSC6&format=RSS

You can visit https://validator.w3.org/feed/ and test the URL if it is a valid feed URL or not.

And also, the shortcode posted here is an incomplete shortcode. kindly use code tag as suggested by @rozroz while pasting the shortcode which will prevent the shortcode from getting mangled or cutoff.

Okay I think I see. The posted shortcode was missing the final bracket:

The updated version WORKED, thank you. Now the page comes up and the feeds are showing. I also removed the invalid feed and will test the others.

One flaw is that the default image isn’t showing up for a few items, just a blank square where it should be. This behavior may be unrelated … if so, I’ll start another request and let this issue be marked as resolved.

It was a shock to have the live site vanish, but thank you for your consideration in resolving it!
