Feedburner Ping Vs. WordPress ping

I now have my WP set up to use Feedburner. Feedburner can be configured to ping various places, as does WP itself (pingomatic). Is it necessary to have Feedburner ping as well? It it better to have Feedburner ping instead of WP itself? Is there an advantage or disadvantage to having them both ping, etc.
