The problem i have is the user is still be able to hit the search button or either is just able to hit the enter key to do a manual/fixed search. The search phrase you did manual doesn’t clear when you backspace the search input even with the live search is checked. * I would suggest you not to give the user the option to switch but either just a good experience only having the option to do a live search. Will test this also in normal posts.
