# feed url when using page-name permalink

 * Problem: I want to put the feed url into an rss widget. I used the standard [http://www.bluefernpress.com/feed/](http://www.bluefernpress.com/feed/)
   with no success. I’m using a static front page and a separate posts page, and
   I’m using page-name permalinks. I’m happy with how the site looks and how the
   links look. But the rss feed for individual posts directs to my front page, not
   the posts page (I have a widget for all 404 not found links to redirect to my
   front page, because this site replaces another that had different page links).
 * Me: I don’t understand anything about source code. I’m trying to use menus. I’ve
   searched the support forum for ideas, but I don’t understand the answers. I’ve
   tried out all kinds of different feed urls in the widget’s menu. I think I get
   that the individual posts have their own links created by wordpress. I’ve used
   the shortlink button to see them. But I can’t change them, like I can change 
   the page permalinks. I like that the list of posts displays on the site with 
   the page-name permalink. But how do I get the rss feed to work? I’d love the ‘
   for dummies’ version, if possible. Many thanks for any help.

   is working just fine, it’s even perfectly valid: [http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbluefernpress.com%2Ffeed%2F](http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbluefernpress.com%2Ffeed%2F)
 * What isn’t working are your permalinks, they’re all exactly `http://bluefernpress.
   com/page-name/`
 * Take a look at Settings -> Permalinks in your blog’s Dashboard and make sure 
   that you have selected “Post name”, which is actually what you want. It looks
   like you maybe entered “page-name” as a custom permalink, which is not a valid
   structure tag, hence your problem.
