I would like to have 3 types of listings and according to BD’s doc, I should use the Fee Plan to do so (If you’d prefer that users buy a listing with a plan and you differentiate the plans based on the features available, but not on things like listing expiration time or images, then the Fee Plan method is probably your best choice).

Therefore I set 3 different fee plans, free, standard and premium and went to “manage restrictions” to select the fields by listing fees.

The problem is that if a customer select one of the 3 fee plans, he gets access to the exact same form while I would have expected that he had access only to the field corresponding to his fee plan.

    Example:

The subscriber select the free option, he shouldn’t have the option to put a photo in or a link to his website.

Could you please let me know how to solve this?

    Thank you,

    Hi Chocotoff,

Sorry you ran into issues here.

The way featured levels works, the fields are ALWAYS collected for all levels on the submit form–we don’t restrict the submission of them, but we *do* restrict their display based on level. That way, if the user upgrades in the future, you have their data to use for that field. Meaning in your case, we’ll collect a website link, but it won’t show for free users.

Sounds like you didn’t go all the way through the submit process to see the output on the other side. Try that and see if it works as you expect.

Thanks for this. I was afraid this would be the situation. I hope I can get a way to let the customer know on the form itself that even if every field is available only the one he paid for will show (maybe by using the field description for warnings like “only valid for Premium subscriptions …) . I am quite sure most will fill out the complete form even if we describe the tarification before hand and will be disappointed by the result.

Thanks again for your prompt reply, it prevented me of looking everywhere for a solution.

I filled the BD survey some days ago, I would add this now as a suggestion: having the forms fields matching the listing level 🙂

Thanks for the idea–I think that’s a reasonable thing to add and we’ll add it to the list.
