    Hello there,

I need a directory on my website and I am trying to use BD. Before going further along, I would like to know if there are more options that what I can see for paid subscriptions.

I would like to have 3 formats for the subscriptions i.e.

    1) free subscription (business type, name, contact details excluding email and website link)
    2) paying subscription with all of the above, email and website link and photos
    3) another paying subscription like 2) but more photos

Is this technically possible with BD?

    Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I realise now that this option exist as a premium add-on. Therefore, now I would like to know your policy when we buy one.

    1) do we get a full refund if the pluggin doesn’t work?
    2) can we upgrade later by paying the difference between different options if we only take one or two addons at first? Examples: if we buy just one or two add-ons and decide later we would like the full package for example or if we choose the option for only one site and would like to change to multiple sites?

Otherwise, we can’t seem to make the translation work after following the instructions. Is there a way to change manually the emails messages to send to subscribers (thanks for payment, renewal, …).

And regarding the images, we can’t upload any. After reading the forum, I gather it could be an authorisation issue. If this is so, could you please tell us how to fix this.

    Thanks a million,

PS: and is possible to translate manually the main buttons (i.e. submit, view listings …)

    Hi Chocotoff,

Wow–that’s a lot of questions! Let me make sure I cover them all:

1-3, first post) This hinges on what you mean by “subscription”. If you mean “a listing that has a recurring payment on a regular time period, like $30/month”, yes we have that. You can create fee plans to support any number of these with any length or fee amount and image counts. Our main gateways (Stripe, PayPal, 2Checkout) all support recurring payments now, although each is slightly different. I think PP and Stripe are probably the best of the two based on vendor support.

1, second post) We allow for refunds in the 1st 30 days if you run into a technical issue we can’t solve. The full policy is outlined here for you to read: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/terms

2, second post) We always allow you to upgrade to higher packages at any time later by paying the difference. So if you buy one module today, and want to move to the Combo Pack, you can do so by paying the difference ($150).

The translation of the plugin is not just dependent on the PO/MO file. There are other strings to do (e.g. field labels, email text) in the settings. We outline most of that here: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/quick-start-guide/#translate

This is how you translate the button text as well.

For your image issue, can you please detail what is going on there? It would help to know what you see as an error message or where you get stuck. The documentation on the image settings is here in case that helps: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/docs/#options-image

Thank you so much for your reply.

Unfortunately, the translation still doesn’t work even after following all the steps described in the link. Would you know anyone who succeeded in translating BD in French who could give us some advice?

And also, is there a way to customize the presentation of the listing view?

BD is really a great plugin I wish I could use.

    Hi Chocotoff,

The translations do indeed work–perhaps something was missed when you did your steps. Let’s walk through that.

Tell me everything you did to get the translations working, specifically:
    – Where did you put the translation files?
    – What did you name them?
    – What version of WP are you using?
    – And which language code did you set?
    – What specifically isn’t working about the translations? Everything or just some fields? Not all fields are in the translation file–some things like your field labels, you have to translate in the WP admin dashboard settings for BD.

You can customize the presentation view, but you need to have HTML and PHP skills. More on that here: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/customizing-bd-to-fit-your-theme/

I can’t believe how fast you reply. It is much appreciated.

I copy here what my husband did for the translation (I am in charge of the site content, he takes care of the more technical matters 🙂

    “- I get the file WPBDM.pot from wp-content/plugins/business-directory-plugin/languages
    – Through the poedit application, I wrote the translations (in French)
    – I saved the file as WPDPM.fr_FR.po and the application created the compiled version WPDPM.fr_FR.mo
    – I uploaded both files in wp-content/plugins/business-directory-plugin/languages
    – I changed the language parameter to French in WordPress dashboard under General Settings. “

We are worried more specifically about the buttons i.e. Submit, view, view listing, edit as for the fields I did translate most of them while preparing the form.

    Thanks for your help!

OK–that helps. But there’s one important question that I still need to know:

What specifically isn’t working about the translations? Everything or just some fields?

Can you provide a link or screenshot showing what you see?

And what version of WP are you on?

    Thread Starter Chocotoff

    (@chocotoff)

No translation at all was done that way. The only things I was able to change were the fields. Here is the link to our directory page (the website is still under construction and entries in the directory just tests):

    http://troublesdapprentissage.com/business-directory/?action=viewlistings

We will need to change the buttons “submit”, “edit”, “view all listings” ….

We are using WP 4.1 and are updating regularly all our plugins.

    Thanks for your help!

OK–I think we may need to take this discussion offline here to be of better help.

Can you contact me here directly? http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact and provide a link to this thread? We’ll go from there.
