• Hi all, I have a question regarding Customizr and SEO. When I fetch my homepage in google webmaster tools it doesn’t look like it renders the featured text under the featured images on the homepage. It isn’t picked up by Yoast WordPress SEO either. It is such an awesome theme that I’m sure I’m just missing something? I’d appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

  • You need to create a blank ‘Home’ page and set all the SEO properties. then set it a static front page. Of course you can add content in the new ‘home’ page and it will appear under the FPs.

I had the same issue and no rankings , when I fixed it my rankings have shot up

What’s your site by the way?

Hi stellamaris5, Thanks for your reply. I did all that, and the extra content is picked up fine when I fetch with google and Yoast’s plugin, just not the featured text. Here is a link

    http://redswirldesign.co.za/

It can’t pick up all of the content, when I had no home page it never picked up anything, only when I added a home page it started picking up whatever I put into the SEO fields.

I’m not sure if this is how it should be but it works for me.

Do you have a Home page set up as I can only see the FPs set up with the extension?

As far as I understand, if you use the SEO plugin, google will only pick up the data you entered in each page or post in the plugin fields.

To expplain, in your pages list , do you have a page that corresponds to the one displayed in the front page?

I do have a home page set up that is set to static. I have content on that homepage (Our Goal, Our Vision, Our Promise). I also have three pages for the three featured images and featured text although the text on the homepage is not pulled from those three pages, it is pulled from Appearance > Customize > content. Do you think that is the problem?

I’ve set the content of the FPs where you have, and it is not pulled.

How do you know that stuff is not pulled by google? Have you resubmitted everything to indexing? It takes ages for google to get the correct info.

I am just also curious how you know this fact – where do you check?

As far as I know, Google will only pull what you set in SEO Yoast meta data in below the ‘HOme’ page, nothing else and your site index

When going into Google Webmaster Tools there is an option for Fetch as Google.

    dont worry abou tthat.

When you log in to admin and go to the HOme page , do you have a orange , red or green light on top of it? If it is grey it’s not working, if it shows you the status it means it is fine

go to SEO, analyze this page, check google cache. it should show whats picke dup
