Whenever I toggle the star to denote a Featured Product I am directed to a plain white page that says “Unauthorised request, please try again.”

I am however able to use Quick Edit to toggle the checkbox, then Save.

  • Hey there, @guyhaines! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Have you tried doing this on different browsers or on a private window? Do you get the same result?

It is possible something (theme or another plugin) is causing this conflict. But before asking for a conflict test, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

@carolm29 is there somewhere more private I can paste that?

Yes I tried all of the above.

    Hello @guyhaines,

is there somewhere more private I can paste that?

I understand your privacy concerns. You can use Quickforget to share the system support report. You can paste it there and set the number of views and the time you want to have it accessible.

Please be sure to redact any information you are not comfortable sharing, like your site link.

    Cheers.

    Hey there 👋

    Thanks for sharing that!

I am unable to reproduce this issue on my test site which uses the latest version of WooCommerce core, as marking the product as “Featured” by clicking the star, works as expected on my end:

Does this happen with all products, or only specific products? If the latter, are these any similarities with the products exhibiting this behavior (newly added products/variable products etc)?

Also, to better understand what you are experiencing on your end, can you please share a clear screenshot of the error you are seeing after clicking the star to mark the product as “Featured”

If you don’t already have a screenshot tool installed, Snipboard.io can be used for easily sharing screenshots. Please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in your reply here.

Taking a look at your sites SSR, everything looks good there. Would you mind navigating to WooCommerce → Status → Logs and share a copy of any fatal errors found there.

Additionally, can you check the browser console on Products > All products page and see if there are any errors being displayed there. Please share any errors with us here.

You can read more about using your browser console to identify errors here.

    Cheers!

    All products

    No fatal errors

No JS errors in console ..

    🙁

    Hey, @guyhaines!

    All right, thanks for clarifying.

Can you please run a conflict test to see if something external is interfering with this?

To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront, then check to see if the issue is still present. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you.

If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

    — Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

    — Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    — It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

You can find more about this in this guide.

Please let us know about your findings.

    Looking forward to your reply.

I will have to perform those tests at a later date as the site is VERY large and heavily trafficked. Thank you! 🙂

    Howdy!

That sounds like a plan 🙂

We’ll leave this topic open for a while, and will be here if you need any further help after performing the conflict test.

    Cheers!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
