    Hello there,

If you mean images like this one http://i2.wp.com/styleandspice.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/almond-bottles.jpg?resize=1800%2C1333 then this is normal because these images are not located in your WordPress installation where our plugin can handle and resize them!

The reason you see some of these images resized is CSS related and has nothing to do with how the plugin works!

Is this clear to you, or would you like me to explain it a little more?

Thanks, Nevma. Is there any way I could get these photos into the WordPress installation? Or is the only way to fix it CSS related? I’m just not entirely comfortable with coding and don’t want to mess anything up.

Well the fact that these images are not located in your WordPress installation means that you have probably requested it to be so by using a CDN or perhaps a service like Jetpack Photon. Of course these are good services and under no circumstances do I recommend that you quit using them, unless you are very sure of what you are doing.

About the CSS issue, if you are not comfortable with code, then I suggest you let it be or ask for help from a developer. You could search for another theme, of course, but maybe this option is a little far-fetched.

    Takis,

You’re right – I was using Photon. I deactivated it to test out if that would fix the issue. It did not. At this point, I’m guessing CSS would be the only way to fix the issue. I have contacted my theme developer and haven’t gotten a response in a few weeks.

I have thought about perhaps changing the theme, but I really don’t want to do that because I paid for the theme and don’t have a lot of disposable income right now.

    Thanks for your help,
    Rachel

    Hello, Rachel,

There is one important thing you need to understand, since you are not a developer. CSS can force a browser to show a big image as smaller, but the image will still be as big as it is. The device will still have downloaded the original image. Our plugin sends a whole new smaller image version to the device, so that the download time is much shorter too! Of course, a developer can combine both of these techniques.

What I am saying is that, no matter what your theme is, our plugin will be able to make your images smaller for mobile devices (as long as a service like Photon is not involved). However, if this will actually show correctly in the device browser is a CSS related issue as well!

    🙂

    Cheers,
    Takis
