Featured Images show on some pages and not on others!?!

    Thank you in advance for your time and useful suggestions.

    After migrating from WordPress.com to WordPress.org, everything was just lovely except that FEATURED IMAGES are missing on a few posts and exist on others.

    Notes:

    – Featured images are attached to ALL posts

    – MISSING Featured images DO SHOW with the “Recent Posts Widget With Thumbnails” plugin’s widget, but not in posts

    – MISSING Featured images do NOT show in the RSS feed

    – MISSING Featured Images can be seen in a browser via URL

    – We have run the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin

    – We have also tried “Quick Featured Images” and “Easy Add Thumbnail” plugins without success

    – We have deactivated and reactivated all plugins and this did not solve anything

    One odd thing: several images do not show in the MEDIA LIBRARY – in other words, there are only grayed tiles instead of thumbnail views. All of the problem Featured Images are grayed tiles in the Media Library.

    Our goal is not to have to re-upload the images manually.

    Suggestions?

    Also checked posts in different browsers and on multiple devices with the same MISSING Featured Image issues.

    Of course, I now have a deadline for a project, so no time to wait around and hope for an answer.

    Fortunately, only a few of My posts needed to be fixed, so I actually hotlink-uploaded the images in order to get them to show up in the Media Gallery and as Featured Images.

    I hope that My suggestion helps others and that this issue is fixed soon.

    Update:

    I’ve REMOVED ALL PLUGINS related to the Media Library and do NOT have Jetpack Photon activated and still this problem persists.

    Now, today, I am unable to use the workaround I described above.

    Seriously, any ideas anyone?

    So, tried this TODAY and working so far:

    Activated Jetpack Photon

    Installed Add From Server plugin – that didn’t work before, but today I’ve added it with Jetpack Photon and

    – images still grayed-shadows in Media Library

    – BUT Featured Image now shows on a PAGE

    Please note: TODAY My previous solution of hotlink-uploading images in order to get them to show up in the Media Gallery and as Featured Images IS NOT WORKING…

    No answers from anyone (no surprise there) and 5 days later, suddenly, featured post images show but some are STILL shaded and unusable…
