featured images gone after migration

  • After I migrated my wp site to a different server I see the following differences on my homepage:

    1. There are no images
    2. The black and blue text is gone, now all of the text is blue
    3. The icons are gone for the different sections.

    Any ideas on what could be causing this???

    Thanks!

  • Do a view source from your browser and you’ll see this comment towards the top:

    /*************************************************************************
    Default CSS served INLINE because wp-content/uploads is not writable.
    This will change once wp-content/uploads is writable
    **************************************************************************/

    So when you migrated to your new host, you needed to make the folder wp-content/uploads writeable. I’m not very UNIX literate (believe it or not, but I have my sites hosted on a Windows server), but if you are on a UNIX host, I think you need to do a chmod to that folder to make it writeable.
