Featured Images aren't attached to posts

    I did a partial export with the default WordPress export – 3 months of posts.

    Then, I did an export using the Export Featured Images plugin and in the plugin settings, I checked the boxes next to “Posts” and “Attachments”.

    However, after the import, the images show up as “Unattached” in the media library.

    Any way to fix this?

    I had the same thing happen me if anyone has an answer?

    I did a normal export and import
    Then export/import using the Export Featured Image plugin
    Images upload but don’t attache as featured to the post.

    Using on a multisite and worked for some subsites but not others

    I too had a similar issue, they imported both posts, then images but not attached, I may have discovered the difference though as I got it to work second time.

    First attempt

    1) Imported posts, and selected import images/attachments checkbox

    2) Imported image export import file and again selected import images/attachments checkbox.

    Second attempt (this one worked after deleting all of the remnants from the first import, so both posts, not just in trash but permanently to make sure the post ID’s are fresh again and also the images imported.

    1) Imported posts, and left import images/attachments checkbox unchecked.

    2) Imported image export import file and selected import images/attachments checkbox.

    That worked, hope maybe that small quirk helps others.

    So, some of the featured images imported correctly, but others did not…strange.
