Featured Images

    It is driving me crazy that in the newest versions of WP, it’s now necessary to set the featured image as a completely separate step from inserting an image in a post. (By which I mean, I used to be able to do this while I was still in the image dialog. Now I have to open it twice.) This seems like a huge step backward to me, where I used to just be able to click an extra time while inserting my main photo, and now I have to go through a whole process a second time.

    Is there a reason that the redesign for media uploads/insertion made this more work than it used to be?

    I don’t think that you should open it twice since when you upload a file, in the dialog panel, on the left, you have the button that bring you to choose your featured image!
    Yes, that’s a longer way than the previous one, but looks like you are making it even more difficult…

    Yes, there’s a button on the left. But if you click the option to insert your images, it closes the dialog and you have to re-open it in order to use the featured image button.
