Featured Image sizing wrongly

Since the upgrade when I set the featured image I get a long thin image…it is also only a part of the image.

I am using a slider that using the featured image…which you as you can see from website now means that the image is cropped.

If you wait a couple of posts in and the slider image is correct…look at the post and the image is a small version of the large image.

Is there anyway I can alter this as it is very annoying… 😀
