Featured Image Size

  • Hello,

    My site http://www.mydaintyderriere is running on Fashionistas theme. I’m having trouble with the size of my featured image, it’s showing up as a very large picture on the home page. It appears to be the same size as the original/what is featured in the body of the post. How do I resize the featured image?

    Thanks 🙂

  • Hi Michelle,

    I looked into the site and saw the different image sizes in homepage and post page.

    But can you clarify if you want to resize the image on the homepage or the one in the post.

    Thanks

    Hi Maruti,

    Thank you for your reply. I would like to resize the featured image on the home page so that it shows up as a thumbnail size, not the full size.

    Any help will be much appreciated!

    How much pixel do you want to resize. Can you give specific details?
    Also that how much of the image should be covered in the thumbnail?

    It would be easy to resize if the details are specific.

    Hi Michelle,

    I see you got an image size defined, and you will have to figue that out.

    For example the home page has ‘thumb-featured’ which is defined in the functions.php file line number 45 which reads

    add_image_size( 'thumb-featured', 640, 250, true );

    so now you have to find the handle which is fefined to image size 298X300

    please look for it and use the handle you found in line number 25 for content.php file which reads
    <?php the_post_thumbnail( 'thumb-featured' ); ?>

    Replace thumb-featured with the custom handle defined

    Hope it helps

    Thanks
