    Hello,

We have set the featured image of our homepage (similar to all the other pages) and used the same image in the Yoast appearance settings (organization logo). It’s an image with our logo, standard 500x500px PNG file.

However, for some strange reason the image that Google shows on mobile only displays half of our logo. The left half is not visible. And we do not have such an image anywhere on our website.

    Any thoughts would be welcome.

    Cheers,

    Boudewijn

    Hello Boudewijn,

    Thanks for reaching out.

On viewing the page source of https://mercuryredstone.com, we can see <meta property="og:image" content="https://mercuryredstone.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Yoast-Social-Media.jpg" />. This matches the featured image you described.

However, you mentioned that Google shows half of your logo in mobile results. Please provide us with screenshots that highlight what you see in mobile search results. You can use any image sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it an image sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

Thanks for sharing the relevant screenshot here with us. While we are not sure why Google is showing the logo as half in the mobile search as a thumbnail, we do know that Yoast SEO isn’t showing it as half but adding the complete logo from here: https://mercuryredstone.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/photo5816702405889341358.jpg.

So, this is something that could be specific to Google cache and once Google recrawls the relevant page, that will eventually fix the issue for you.

Let’s hope so, however I’m not too sure. Is there a way that I can make Google recrawl that page?

Yes, you can force Google to re-crawl a page using the “Request Indexing” feature. You can use this feature to force Google’s index to update. Please follow the steps here: https://yoast.com/help/fetch-as-googlebot/.

The last date that the site was crawled was today. I requested a new indexing and it’s now in the crawl queue. Let’s see what that delivers.

    Hi,

Even if Google is able to already recrawl the page, it’ll still be up to them as to what they would like to actually display in the search results. We also suggest contacting the Google Search Central Help Community as we do see that the output coming from the Yoast SEO plugin is correct.

Well, the issue has not been resolved. I posted a message on the indicated platform but all they said was that my Favicon size was not correct. So, so far, nobody has resolved anything.
